As an underwriting agency, we have been authorised by our insurance partners to sell the following motor third party liability insurance products:
1. Short-Term Licence Plates
Duration of the insurance policy: 1, 2, 3, 5 & 6 days
Short-term licence plates are suitable for transfer, inspection and test drives within Germany. The prerequisites for a short-term licence plate include the general inspection and an insurance confirmation or insurance policy, which is linked to the validity of a short-term licence plate. Short-term licence plates are valid for up to a maximum of 5 days for one vehicle.
2. Export Licence Plates
Duration of the insurance policy: 9, 15, or 30 days
An export licence plate is the only German vehicle registration plate that allows official and safe export within and outside Europe. On the right-hand side of the white licence plate with black lettering, there is a vertical red bar in which the expiry date is embossed. Motor vehicle liability insurance is required for this export licence plate. Journeys are possible to the European and non-European countries that are shown, and are not crossed out, on the accompanying green card. For all other countries, separate insurance cover must be purchased in accordance with the regulations of these countries.
